Good afternoon family of God,

Recently I heard a quote from someone; I don't have the name, but it goes like this. "Worry is like a rocking chair; it will give you something to do but it won't get you anywhere." Thought provoking, isn't it?

Worry disables our faith in God and His good plans. Plain and simple. Besides that, it is a sin. It separates us from God. Whether we have been rocking all our life or just recently in light of what is happening around our world. It is time to get out of that rocker and plant our feet on the solid Truth of God's abiding Word.

Right now, we are experiencing a thunder and lightning storm. The rain is falling and the wind picked up. It is funny that just this morning I read in Marks account, chapter 4:35-41.

You know how heavy the air feels as a storm approaches? The obvious change in cloud color and how the air smells? If the storm is close the hair stands up on your arms and neck. All very exciting. But, imagine being in a small boat on the sea in a storm. It was good that Jesus was with the disciples.

However, while all this thunder banging and noise of lightening; with the fierce winds that raised the water to fill up their boat...I would be scared too! Where was Jesus? Sleeping on a pillow!

Sometimes it feels like that doesn't it when circumstances are too loud in your ears and it makes your heart pound. We are learning what God says about anxiety these last few days.

So, my question is...is Jesus in your boat? Are you ready to scream for His help? Wouldn't it be good to hear, "Hush, be still" and see the command of the Lord take control over the storm you are facing?

How quickly my faith flys away when the storm unsettles me. It takes a few minutes sometimes to set my mind on things above the storm. To claim His Majesty over the wind and waves.

The are the times we ask along with the guys on that day, "Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?" Jesus takes care of the situation with a couple of mighty words then the guys see the calm happening right before their eyes! The sea gives up its raging!

After things calmed down, "He said to them, Why are you so timid and fearful? His is it that you have no faith (no firmly relying trust)?" Mark 4:40.

Whether the storm comes in the form of angry people, or within nature itself. The storm could be within you because the money didn't come in to pay your bills. The storm might come to you through the words of a doctor.

Where ever we find ourselves, the enemy will always try to create the perfect storm. That is why we are preparing now to know God's Words and hide them in our hearts. If only we will. It is all right there for us to hang onto, like the life preserver that keeps our head above water.

Psalm 56:3 says, "What time I am afraid, I will have confidence in and put my trust and relieance in You."

Psalm 94:19 sys, "In the multitude of my [anxious] thoughts within me, Your comforts cheer and delight my soul!"

There we have it! Praise the name of the Lord Who brings me comfort. The One Who gives me a spirit of a sound mind. Thank you Lord Jesus for Your continuous watch care over our lives. Nothing escapes Your notice as we continue on the steps that You have prepared for us.

Psalm 94:13 says, "That You may give him power to keep himself calm in the days of adversity, until the [inevitable] pit of corruption is dug for the wicked."

Praise the matchless name of the Lord Jesus. He has kept us and will take care of the enemy in due time. Thank you Father God.

After the storm, step away from your rocker of worry and go outside to inhale a deep breath of fresh ozone! Lift up your hands in worship while taking in the breath of life God gives! Amen!

Abundance is...Jesus is in my boat
