Blessed be the name of the Lord! Do you need reassurance today? Let's look at the faithful promises given by God. If you believe in the Son of God, Jesus Christ and have repented of your sins, He will forgive you and lift you out of the bondage in your life. He promised!
1 Corinthians 10:13 seems pretty long when reading the Amplified Version of the Bible but, I like to see the translations of words given in the Greek and Hebrew texts. Understanding the heart and mind of God is what I desire.
"For no temptation (no trial) regarded as enticing to sin), [no matter how it comes or where it leads] has overtaken you and laid hold on you that is not common to man [that is, no temptation or trial has come to you that is beyond human resistance and that is not adjusted and adapted and belonging to human experience, and such as man can bear],
But God is faithful [to His Word and to His compassionate nature], and He [can be trusted] not to let you be tempted and tried and assayed beyond your ability and strength of resistance and power to endure, but with the temptation He will [always] also provide the way out (the means of escape to a landing place), that you may be capable and strong and powerful to bear up under it patiently."
I am so glad God knows what I am made of. Aren't you? How many times have you let someone hear a mouthful of icky words? The kind that come from self pity, anger, wanting another person to change their mind or even in the private times, in your own space...you rant at the circumstances and complain? Who is hearing you ultimately? Confess and grow up to be a true witness of Christ's work of redemption in your life. Don't let your own purposes get in the way of your testimony. I'm talking to myself here too. None righteous, no not one.
Lord forgive us of our pollution, our stinky attitudes and plans to be in control. Help us keep our values clear by what we say and do in this lost world. Teach us how to examine our hearts before Your Word. To separate the precious from the worthless. In Jesus name, amen.
I found it interesting that the faithfulness of God has a great purpose. He will keep us strong to the end so that we may be able to greet the Lord Jesus when He returns...and with great joy!
1 Corinthians 1:8-9 says..."And He will establish you to the end [keep you steadfast, give you strength, and guarantee your vindication; He will be your warrant against all accusation or indictment so that you will be] guiltless and irreproachable in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah).
God is faithful (reliable, trustworthy, and therefore ever true to His promise, and He can be depended on); by Him you were called into companionship and participation with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord."
Praise the Lord we are not left on our own. You know how your flesh can be? We crave what we don't need. We make idols of our stuff and position. We desperately need Jesus! He really came to earth for us. Now we can bow our hearts and lift our hands that He really will finish the story of our lives. This journey, this season, is not without His loving kindness and compassion. Read Psalm 103:1-5 today in the quiet and make it yours.
Do you want to be blameless and confident before the throne of God? I sure do! We can begin each morning casting all our cares on Him, knowing He cares deeply and completely for us.
Finally, 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24..."And may the God of peace Himself sanctify you through and through [separate you from profane things, make you pure and wholly consecrated to God]; and may your spirit and soul and body be preser5ved sound and complete [and found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah).
Faithful is He Who is calling you [to Himself] and utterly trustworthy, and He will also do it [fulfill His call by hallowing and keeping you]." Amen.
Now think about this. Is your view confused, dimmed, fogged over by the untruth, the evil voices all around you? Regardless of your circumstances, find joy and peace in the unfailing, faithful Word of God. His promises remain forever and will never change. He gave them to each of us to gird us up on holy faith. He conquers the evil intended against you and I. He will come again as He said and the Victory will be evident. It can be even today. Let Jesus be the answer to your problems. He remains. God bless and keep you in the matchless name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Abundance is...God is utterly trustworthy!
