Hello to friends and family from Heartstrings!

Do you feel like you need to be rescued today? There is hope for you! It is found in following Christ and paying attention to His Word. Psalm 71:1 says, "In You, O LORD, do I put my trust and confidently take refuge; let me never be put to shame or confusion!"

Lord, set us free from negative emotions and the things that feed those feelings. As I grow closer to You I realize there is no reason to live any longer with anxiety, depression, fear, and hopelessness as a way of life. I used to consider this the normal. Now, I am coming to believe that all things are possible to anyone who believes and obeys God. Even to live without negative emotions! Oh, Lord, remove them like lifting off a thick, heavy blanket. Soggy with the lies of the enemy. Help each of us to understand Your goodness in the matchless name above all other names. Amen.

Have you ever felt like God has deserted you? Even Jesus had a time of wrestling with that emotion. You are not alone. At Jesus lowest point He said, "My God, my God, why have You forsaken Me?" (Matthew 27:46).

The truth of the matter is this. You are not alone or forsaken! God is with us to help us when we call upon Him. In the middle of these times, we don't have to be controlled by our negative emotion. We can resist them by praying and knowing the truth of what God's Word says about them.

God's promises are these. Philippians 4:6-7 says, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

Psalm 107:13-14 says, "Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses. He brought them out of darkness and in the shadow of death, and broke their chains in pieces."

Matthew 11:28-30 says, "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."

Psalm 34:17-18 says, "The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit."

Isaiah, 40:31 says, "Those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."

Lord, help us to live in Your joy and peace. Give us strength and understanding to resist anxiety, anger, unrest, envy, depression, bitterness, hopelessness, loneliness, fear, and guilt. You will rescue us when our spirit is overwhelmed within us; when our hearts are distressed. Psalm 143:4.

Help us to keep our "heart with all diligence," for I know that "out of it spring the issues of life"... Proverbs 4:23. Help us not to be insecure and self-focused and miss the opportunities to focus on You and extend Your love. Make us sensitive to the needs of others. Give us wisdom to speak what Your Spirit says to speak to encourage and lift them up from despair. What You accomplished on the cross is my source of greatest joy and the fact that You are alive today!

Negative emotions reveal doubt. Think about it. If we truly trust God, what do we have to be anxious about? Why would we be angry, dissatisfied, envious, depressed, bitter, or hopeless? I know we are all susceptible to experiencing these emotions at some point in our lives. But, don't feel bad about having them, take them to Jesus and don't continue in them. Refuse to allow them to overshadow the beauty of the life God has for you.

Are you ready to put your trust in Jesus today? Give Him your burdens and the things that trouble your mind and heart. He is waiting to restore you and give you fresh life. An effective witness to the world around you. Bless the Lord in the matchless name of Jesus Christ, amen. We will pray for one another.

Abundance is...being rescued by God
