Welcome to Heartstrings
I am so glad you could gather with us! I hope you are safe and well today.
What I want to share with you is some wonderful words of life from the book of Psalms.
This morning, after watering the garden, and spending time in God's Love Letter to us, I was so encouraged by what I read in Psalm 40:1-5.
"I waited patiently and expectantly for the Lord; and He inclined to me and heard my cry. ~ He drew me up out of a horrible pit [a pit of tumult and of destruction], out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, steadying my steps and establishing my goings. ~ And He has put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many shall see and fear (revere and worship) and put their trust and confident reliance in the Lord. ~ Many, O Lord my God, are the wonderful works which You have done, and Your thoughts toward us; no one can compare with You! If I should declare and speak of them, they are too many to be numbered."
Why stop here? Read the rest of the chapter in a quiet place and hide the Love of God deep in your heart.
There have been one trial after another in so many lives. Fire, flood, winds, and simply bad news that touches a persons life. We must remember the goodness of God! That is why I am able to come here today. His goodness and provision, regardless of the obvious circumstances have been there for me. They are there for you too, as you reach out and touch the Lord.
WE need to keep proclaiming God's love to the world around us! His love and kindness will continually preserve you and I. Only believe. Trust in, rely on and cling to Him.
In verse 16 of this chapter David says..."Let all those that seek and require You rejoice and be glad in You; let such as love Your salvation say continually, THE LORD BE MAGNIFIED!
Verse 17 ends with this..."[As for me] I am poor and needy, yet the Lord takes thought and plans for me. You are my Help and my Deliverer, O my God, do not tarry!"
You know David faced desperate, troubling times too. So, we are not alone. That is part of the Good News! I wonder, where do you turn to for good news? Do you seek God or just lay there and take it like so many in despair?
I will continue to choose the Way, the Truth and the Life I have found in Jesus Christ, my Lord. As long as the world can keep us engaged, talking, debating and wasting time...the enemy wins. I have recently learned this and feel corrupted by the time I spent. Apparently, no, obviously I was not to get involved. So, the Holy Spirit knocked on my heart and I felt uncomfortable to continue. When confusion stepped in, then I knew I had been on a wrong path. No more.
If you understand my meaning then, we will pray to God and ask for wisdom. I don't want to be one of the deceived, do you? The enemy can be very subtle, even winsome. He takes on many forms and disguises. The perfect pretender...be wise people!
Father God, we come to You and ask for the wisdom to refute the enemy and his plans. Your word says in Isaiah 54 that no weapon formed against us will prosper. Help us walk in the righteousness in Jesus Christ. Give us understanding and open eyes to see truth from Your Word. Protect us in the name of Jesus Christ. Holy Spirit cover our minds with soundness and peace. Our strength comes from you Abba. In Jesus matchless name, amen.
This peace, righteousness, security, triumph over opposition is our heritage as servants of the Living God! You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Abundance is...to say continually the Lord be magnified!
